Lower Artisan Square. 583 Prometheus Place, RR#1 AL-19. Family Place, a non-profit organization, was established in 1989 to connect families and support family life on Bowen Island. Family Place offers drop-in programs for parents/caregivers and their children 0-6 years old. The programs offer strength-based family support; developmentally appropriate play-based programming; a clothing, toy and book exchange; a resource lending library; and parent education. New families are always welcome. Family Place Program: Mon 10-1, Tue 10-1 and 3:30-6:30, Wed 9-1, Thurs 10-1. A children’s pot-luck snack is offered each session and a free lunch is provided on Wed and Thurs at noon. Baby Connections: Fri 10-1 for expecting and new parents with babies 0-12 months of age. Join us for tea/coffee and snacks, guest speakers and socializing. Father Connections: Sat 9-12 for fathers, grandfathers and male caregivers with young children. A free breakfast is provided at 10am. Post Partum Support for Mothers of Young Children: Small-group peer support is offered for women experiencing a difficult post partum adjustment, post partum depression or anxiety following the birth or adoption of a child and through the first 3 years.


The committee is committed to raising funds for a place to celebrate island culture in its myriad forms. We’ve launched an ambitious fundraising campaign towards the construction of a multi-use facility, and we need your support.
